HOUSTON (ICIS)—Latin America polyethylene (PE) market prices face upward price pressure as upstream costs show strengthening and demand begins to resurface for some markets. The upward pressure comes from a number of factors and may indicate that the market is emerging from the trough brought about by restrictions enacted to slow the progress of the Covid-19 pandemic. But high inventories, slow economic recovery and the continued spread of the pandemic may overwhelm the upward pressure.
