Asia PX-naphtha price gap hits new low

SINGAPORE (ICIS)--The price gap between paraxylene (PX) and naphtha in Asia hit a fresh low on 21 May. According to ICIS data, the price gap between both products stood at $197.37/tonne on 21 May, compared to $213.62/tonne in the previous day. Weak market fundamentals in the PX sector had heavily weighed on prices. Asian naphtha prices had been on an uptrend since the earlier part of the week, amid a price rebound in the upstream crude oil markets.
