SINGAPORE (ICIS)--Concerns among polyethylene (PE) suppliers in southeast Asia that conditions in China would result in cargoes being redirected appear to be misplaced as there have been no indications of such activities despite broad expectations that China’s demand is already under pressure. There have been speculation that PE market players who are finding difficulties unloading their cargoes in Chinese ports or are unable to sell their shipment in China would rather reroute their vessels to southeast Asia, where they hope to sell their products at better prices.
