Volatility upstream and in Asia causes price tension in European PET market

LONDON (ICIS)--The rising cost of crude, and subsequently Asian polyethylene terephthalate (PET) production costs, created price tension in the European PET arena.Prices could go either way or roll over, because the markets are still unstable and therefore unpredictable. As June draws closer, buyers and sellers are trying to prepare for what lies ahead, and while some consider PET prices to have bottomed out, others are unsure.
