Adders facing ongoing pressure on slower demand in US PP market

HOUSTON (ICIS)--Adders over polymer-grade propylene (PGP) are facing ongoing downward pressure on slower demand in the US polypropylene (PP) market. US PP contracts are typically formula-based and are set at PGP values plus an adder. ICIS assessed a cumulative decrease of 3 cents/lb ($66/tonne) on PP contract adders over the course of 2019 as depressed demand and plentiful supply pressured prices lower.
