Amid the first wave of the coronavirus pandemic in Asia, IPA prices rose 15% to hit a high of $897/tonne CFR (cost & freight) SE (southeast) Asia in late February, according to ICIS data. However, these prices could not sustain. A week later, prices began their downtrend until around mid-March when the coronavirus pandemic reached the US and Europe.
