UGV 20bn m~3 target proves elusive

Ukraine's largest gas producer Ukrgazvydobuvannya (UGV) appears to have stalled in its mission to hit production of 20bn m~3 by 2020, up from 14.5bn m~3 in 2015 - the so-called 20:20 programme. The subsidiary of state-owned Naftogaz accounts for two-thirds of Ukraine's production and made good progress in 2016-17, achieving planned targets. But output will be 15.9bn m~3 at best this year and possibly as low as 15.4bn m~3, well short of its 16.5bn m~3 target, UGV sources say.
