There are signs that Russian fuel oil supply is contracting against a background of lower output because of refnery maintenance. Rail supply of fuel oil for export from Russia dropped to 1.99mn t (95,700 t/d) on 1-21 April, down from 3.26mn t (105,000 t/d) in the same period a month earlier - although some of this fall may be a result of the restart of river ship- ments on 1 April. Around 193,000t (6,400 t/d) of fuel oil is scheduled for export by river this month - 160,000t heading south from Rosneft’s 140,000 b/d Saratov refnery and 33,000t shipped north to St Petersburg from Bashneft’s 480,000 b/d Ufa complex, now controlled by Rosneft.
