US ammonia imports decline in February

US ammonia imports in February declined by 26pc year-overyear to 333,911st. Fertilizer year-to-date imports also slid down by 13pc from a year ago to 3.07mn st. Trinidad accounted for 235,283st, down by 30pc year-overyear. Canada shipped 97,713st, down by 15pc.New domestic production capacity has reduced the US’ footprint in the import market. Fertilizer year-to-date imports from Trinidad shrank by 14pc to just under 2mn st. Canadian year-to-date shipments were slightly above from a year ago at 828,346st.
