Chinese crude imports fell to 8.05mn b/d in January from December's record 8.6mn b/d. But this was still well up on the previous year, reflecting higher demand from refiners and continued stockbuilding. Imports are expected to remain high this quarter, with a steady flow of Atlantic basin crude, including US cargoes, now heading for China.
