Cuba is looking to Russia and Iran to make up for dwindling oil supplies from Venezuela. Cuba is preparing to start negotiations with Russia “to counter possible disruptions in imports from current sources”, an official at oil firm Cupet says. It aims to hold talks with Iran as well. Havana relies on Venezuela for crude and products that it effectively takes for free — Cuba sends medical staff, security personnel and other experts to Venezuela in return.
