US Virgin Islands bucks trend of Caribbean refinery closures

The US Virgin Islands has moved closer to restarting its 350,000 b/d St Croix refinery, which is operating as a storage terminal, bucking a trend of plant closures in the Caribbean. BP has reached a deal with Limetree Bay Refining to supply crude to the refinery and market its low-sulphur products. Limetree Bay Refining, which manages the St Croix complex, has said the facility will resume refining operations late next year.
