EIA keeps US output forecast steady, lowers gasoline demand figure

The EIA has kept its US crude output forecast for this year unchanged at 10.8mn b/d but marginally increased its 2019 forecast by 0.3pc to 11.8mn b/d in its latest Short-Term Energy Outlook (STEO). The 2018 and 2019 averages would be records, vaulting past the previous high of 9.6mn b/d set almost five decades ago.
