An unexpectedly cold winter in northeast Asia has helped propel prompt jet fuel to its highest premium to forward months in around 10 years. Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and China have experienced cold snaps since the start of this year, with temperatures in some major cities dropping to their low- est in decades. Tokyo recorded its lowest temperature in almost 50 years in late January, and its heaviest snowfall in four years.
