Demand strong but threats exist

Global oil demand has grown strongly this year, led by a surge in diesel and LPG, but headwinds are blowing on the horizon. Deliveries in the Argus-16 group of large consuming countries grew by 1.3pc in the first half of this year, led by India, the US and China. Middle distillates demand was 1.4pc higher over the same period for the Argus-16.
