Crude prices broke above the $80/bl mark as concerns about disruption to supply in Venezuela, Iran and Nigeria overshadowed rising US production and rig counts. Atlantic basin benchmark North Sea Dated rose by $2.98/bl to $80.24/bl in the week to 17 May, its highest since November 2014. US marker WTI rose to its highest in three and a half years, although it was only 13¢/bl up at $71.49/bl.
