Oil markets return to pre-attack levels

Prices fell as stocks rose in the US and Europe and volatility eased following the mid-September attacks on Saudi oil infrastructure. Slowing global economic growth pressured prices further, while products margins strengthened, especially European and US diesel. Atlantic basin bench- mark North Sea Dated eased by $3.85/bl to $57.97/bl in the week to 3 October, while Mideast Gulf marker December Dubai shed $3.04/bl to $56.81/bl and US marker November WTI slipped by $3.96/bl to $52.45/bl.
