Opec production fell by 400,000 b/d in February, as Saudi Arabia bolstered eforts to implement output cuts and US sanctions hit Venezuela. Output dropped to 30.58mn b/d last month - its lowest since February 2015. The 11 Opec countries participating in this year’s output restraint deal produced 930,000 b/d below the agreement’s October baseline, a compliance rate of well over 100pc - as the group’s two largest producers shed a combined 290,000 b/d between them (see table).
