Opec+ talks down quota increase

A nearly 2mn b/d increase in the Opec+ output ceiling in August will hardly afect the oil markets, ofcials from the alliance say. The collective Opec+ production ceiling rises by 1.92mn b/d to 36.17mn b/d next month. But the impact will be limited because frming demand in producer countries will limit export increases and some members will compensate for overproduction in May-June by making larger cuts, the group’s Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee (JMMC) said after its meeting on 15 July.
