Magellan opens up Houston terminal

A key market hub in Houston is changing which pipelines it accepts crude from,opening up more flows for the main coastal benchmark.Midstream firm Magellan plans to allow WTI crude from third-party pipelines to access its Magellan East Houston(MEH)terminal and Houston Distribution System(HDS)in early October.The firm will call the crude MEH-WTI,the same as crude entering from its 275,000 b/d Longhorn and 440,000 b/d Bridgetex pipelines from the Permian basin in west Texas.WTI deals at the MEH terminal are the basis for the Argus WTI Houston assessment and are also normalised to Enterprise's Echo terminal for inclusion in the Argus AGS Marker.
