Australian mineral exploration spending grows

Mineral exploration expenditure in Australia in April-Junerose by 27pc to A$563.4mn ($405mn) from A$444.9mn a yearearlier, as firmer spending on coal, base metals and goldoperations outweighed a slight fall in iron ore.Spending on mineral exploration in the quarter was thehighest seen since July-September 2013, the latest mineraland petroleum exploration report from the Australian Bureauof Statistics (ABS) shows.
