The premium for South African coal delivered to Indian ports to the Australian NAR 5,500 kcal/kg equivalent fell to a 15- week low last week. Falling South African spot prices, coupled with steady freight rates, could boost Indian interest in the country's coal. Last week, South African NAR 5,500 kcal/kg coal was assessed at $75.91/t fob Richards Bay (RB), inching up by 83￠/t on the week, but down from $78.76/t in the first week of September.
