Yancoal highlights growth to HK investors

Chinese-backed Australian coal mining firm Yancoal has highlighted growth plans at its Mount Thorley Warkworth, Hunter Valley Operations (HVO) and Moolarben mines in New South Wales (NSW), as it moves to list on the Hong Kong stock exchange. Yancoal outlined plans to increase production from the Mount Thorley Warkworth mine by 5mn-7mn t/yr run of mine (ROM), to push up production at its Moolarben thermal coal mine to 24mn t/yr ROM from 18mn t/yr ROM, and mine an additional 100mn-120mn t of coal from its HVO thermal and coking coal mine in the Hunter Valley region.
