Coal use in China's Hubei falls to multi-year low

Coal consumption in Hubei province in central China fell to a multi-year low in October, largely because of a rise in hydropower generation during the month. Power plants in Hubei burnt 1.38mn t of coal in October. This was the lowest monthly level since 2011, the provincial development and reform commission (DRC) said, without being more specific.
