China imposes import ban on Guangzhou port

China has banned all coal imports arriving at Guangzhou port, in the south of the country, for the remainder of 2017, according to market participants. The move forms part of a broader set of measures implemented by Beijing to restrict the country's overall receipts this year. The decision was expected, with some sources saying that the Guangzhou port restrictions are already in place, despite being scheduled to enter into force on 10 September.
