Engie sells Australian coal-fired power plant

French utility Engie has sold the 1,000MW Loy Yang B brown coal-fired power plant in Victoria, Australia, to Hong Kong-based conglomerate Chow Tai Fook Enterprises. Engie said the sale will result in a ?66mn ($78mn) reduction in its net debt, but it did not disclose the actual sale price. It owns a 70pc stake in the power plant, with the remaining 30pc held by Japanese trading firm Mitsui.
