South Korean state-owned utility Korea Midland Power (Komipo) has issued two tenders seeking a total of 3.2mn t of bituminous coal to be delivered to its 4,000MW Boryeong thermal power plant through to 2022. Both tenders close at 14:00 South Korean time (05:00 GMT) on 28 September. The first tender seeks 130,000t of minimum NAR 5,700 kcal/kg coal with maximum sulphur levels of 1pc and moisture levels not exceeding 15pc. The coal must have volatile matter ranging from 22-38pc and a maximum ash content of 17pc.
