Aurizon maintains Australian coal haulage target

Australian rail firm Aurizon has maintained its earnings guidance for the year to 30 June, as Queensland coal shipments surge at the end of May and early June after several weeks of depressed exports. Aurizon, which today completed an A$1.3bn ($901mn) debt refinancing to improve its balance sheet, noted some impact on coal demand in Asia and India, but said that the effect on the volumes of coal it hauls for export had not yet been material.
