South Korea's Midland Power (Komipo) is seeking 915,000t of thermal coal on behalf of four other state-owned utilities in a tender that closes on 5 June. New bidders are excluded from this tender. Komipo is seeking 600,000t of bituminous coal with a minimum calorific value (CV) of NAR 5,700 kcal/kg to be delivered on four Capesize vessels and one Panamax vessel in August if loading from Australian or Canadian ports. The month of shipments for coal loading from other ports will be designated by the utilities. But coal from Russia, Indonesia and China is not allowed.
