Nsw's IPC rejects kepco plan for Bylong mine

Australia's New South Wales’ (NSW) Independent Planning Commission (IPC) has rejected plans by South Korean state- owned utility Kepco to build the 6.5mn t/yr Bylong thermal coal project. The IPC rejected the project on environmental grounds, despite the NSW state government recommending in October last year that the project be approved, subject to conditions.
