High-grade South African spot prices extended two consecutive weeks of gains as Indian buying interest has held steady, although daily assessments eased later in the week. Argus assessed the weekly fob Richards Bay (RB) spot market at $63.98/t, up by $1.87/t on the week. Daily prices peaked this week at $67.19/t fob RB on 11 June, when a July-loading cargo traded at $67.25/t — around a 25￠/t premium to swaps and the highest assessment- relevant deal since 9 May. But the spot market stumbled to $62.32/t the following day.
