SUS329J1 Duplex Stainless Steel with Harmonic Structure: Improvements in Strength and Ductility(J002_3)

Duplex stainless steels are intensely researched for their high strength and superior corrosion resistance, but also for the superplasticity exhibited by microduplex structures, obtained through appropriate thermomechanical treatments. The downside of the microduplex structures, inherent to most fine-grained structures, is their low ductility, which limits their formability. The current study is aimed at producing a high-strength duplex stainless steel that retains satisfactory work hardening ability.
