摘要

The role of diffusion as the controlling mechanism of ferrite grain size was studied during large strain-high Z deformation of 0.15 carbon steel in the present study. It was found that characteristic diffusion distance by grain boundary diffusion matches very well with ferrite grain size formed. Therefore grain boundary diffusion controls the ferrite grain size. The independency of grain size with strain during high Z -large strain deformation is attributed to the grain boundary diffusion.
