摘要

Heavy metal adrenaline complexes formed from the reaction of adrenaline with Al~(3+), Zn~(2+), Sn~(2+), Sb~(3+), Pb~(2+)and Bi~(3+) ions in methanolic solvent at 60 ℃. The final reaction products have been isolated and characterization using elemental analyses (% of carbon, hydrogen and nitrogen), conductivity measurements, mid infrared, Raman laser, UV–Vis, ~1H NMR spectra, X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX). Upon the spectroscopic, conductivity and elemental analyses, the stoichiometric reactions indicated that the data obtained refer to 1:2 (M:L) for Zn~(2+), Sn~(2+), Pb~(2+)and Bi~(3+) complexes [Zn(Adr)_2(Cl)_2], [Sn(Adr)_2]Cl_2, [Pb(Adr)_2](NO_3)_2 and [Bi(Adr)_2(Cl)_2]Cl, while the molar ratio 1:3 (M:L) for Al~(3+) and Sb~(3+) with formulas [Al(Adr)_3](NO_3)_3 and [Sb(Adr)_3]Cl_3. The infrared and Raman laser spectra interpreted the mode of interactions which associated through the two phenolic groups of catechol moiety. The adrenaline chelates have been screened for their in vitro antibacterial activity against four bacteria, Gram-positive (Bacillus subtilis and Staphylococcus aureus) and Gramnegative (Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) and two strains of fungus (Aspergillus flavus and Candida albicans). The metal chelates were shown to possess more antibacterial and antifungal activities than the free adrenaline chelate.
