This Editorial by Man and Ma 2012; highlights a publication in the same issue ("The serine protease inhibitor neuroserpin regulates the growth and maturation of hippocampal neurons through a non-inhibitory mechanism" by Lee et al. 2012) that has been retracted by agreement between the authors, the Journal's Chief Editor Jorg Schulz, and Blackwell Publishing Ltd. due to an error in the data reported in that publication. Any other articles referenced in the Editorial Highlight remain unaffected.
