摘要

A high speed camera imaging technique is used to capture the dynamic fracturing process of thin strengthened glass under biaxial tensile loading with modified ring-on-ring configurations. Crack fronts emit radially from the fracture origin. The crack front velocity depends on the load-bearing capacity of the specimen and can be as high as 0.76C(R), where C-R is the Rayleigh wave speed. Finite element analysis (FEA) is used to analyze the stress distribution associated with large deflections accounting for the specific loading fixture geometry. (C) 2014 Elsevier B.V.
