Australia active protecting domestic steel industry

Australia continues to strengthen its trade defence activities in its steel sector to protect the domestic producers. On March 18, the Anti-Dumping Commission released the results of the circumvention investigation, punishing with duties exporters of galvanized flat steel from China and Taiwan and of hollow structural sections (HSS) from China and Malaysia, who were adding alloying elements to steel products to avoid anti-dumping and countervailing duties.
