Mexico’s steel imports to remain high despite protective measures

Mexico will continue to import big volumes of steel products, which in 2015 skyrocketed to the record level for 12 years,despite the expected extension of the safeguard duty. The protective measure may reduce the influx of imports, but isunlikely to improve the situation significantly as the measures do not cover all the imported material.
