The US rebar market is still suffering from high inventories and an excess supply from domestic mills, as well as fromforeign suppliers. Market insiders report that “oversupply causes buyers to pause.” Hence, despite scrap priceimprovement in June, rebar booking price is still hovering in therange of $639/t ($580/short ton) EXW TW in the south and $661-678/t ($600-615/short ton) EXW TW in the Midwest.
