Pittini-Riva deal approved by Italian trade unions

Italian trade unions approved the acquisition of Riva Acciaio steel mill in Verona by Pittini Group. After adding thisplant to its assets, Pittini Group may become the largest wire rod producer in Italy.Unions had a meeting with both parties in mid-August, discussing all aspects and consequences of the deal, MetalExpert learnt. The deal could be sealed either in late September or in early October, according to local media. Bothproducers still refuse to comment regarding the transaction.
