Ukraine to raise iron ore import by 28% in May due to purchases by Dneprovsky (Dzerzhinsky) Metallurgical Plant

Ukraine will raise iron ore imports from 86,000 t in April to 110,000 t in May. The rise is chiefly related to increased purchases of Russian concentrate by Dneprovsky (Dzerzhinsky) Metallurgical Plant (DMKD). Due to an unspoken ban on Russian material supplies, DMKD suspended imports in April. However, as Metal Expert informed earlier, the issue got settled in the second half of April, thereby April concentrate supplies to the manufacturer reached 19,600 t. May supplies are planned to increase to 50,000 t. Stoilensky GOK is the only outside supplier of concentrate.
