CIS billet suppliers become dominant in Egyptian market despite their bullish sentiments

Egyptian buyers prefer to book square billet of CIS origin despite bullish sentiments among suppliers. Demand for semis has livened up amid better conditions in steel consuming industries, particularly in construction. CIS suppliers have adjusted the higher end of the price range by $5/t upwards over the past month, so CIS billet is available to Egypt at $390-395/t CFR now. At the same time, there are practically no offers from Turkey and China because of unworkable prices or long lead times, which makes positions of CIS suppliers dominant in the market.
