WSA: 2014 steel output gains 1.1% despite poor market conditions

In 2014, global steel production increased despite severe competition among the key market players, general price downturn and weaker demand. According to the World Steel Association (WSA), the output went up by 1.1% year-on-year to 1.637 billion t owing to the major producing countries and regions.
