US steelmakers successfully avoid decrease in coils prices which was quite possible given modest demand and falling global prices. Nevertheless, market players have doubts as to traditional increase in offers for the material with Q1 shipment. Market insiders say domestic prices can rise later than expected given large quantities of the material imported to the USA. “Cheap imports will prevent the US mills from raising prices until they file the expected trade actions,” one of traders commented to Metal Expert.
