China to return to EU wire rod market if AD duty is cancelled

Anti-dumping duties on Chinese wire rod will expire in the EU in August 2014. If the validity period is not extended, European steelmakers will be in very difficult situation. The anti-dumping duties were set at 24-25% by the EU in 2009. Official sources give no information about a launch of anti-dumping review now. Thus, market players discuss that in case of the duty removal European mills will lose their share in the market and wire rod prices will drop in the EU.
