Iron ore exporters’ hopes collapse on official forecasts of steel consumption till 2017 in China

According to the government-linked China Metallurgical Industry Planning Association, China’s steel consumption will stop growing in 2017. Moreover, production upturn will significantly slow down. These forecasts affects plans of the largest iron ore exporters who intend to raise capacities expecting faster increase in consumption. Consumption will reach the top in 2017 at some 740 million t, Li Xingchuang, President of China Metallurgical Industry Planning Association said.
