Egypt’s Ezz Steel to raise scrap imports during gas shortage

Egypt’s Ezz Steel has decided to raise scrap bookings for its Alexandria facility for the duration of gas shortage, instead of importing billet as was suggested earlier. The producer has been forced to seek ways of maintaining production amid short supply of natural gas for its DRI module anticipated from August 15 till September 15, when Egyptian Natural Gas Holding (EGAS) conducts repairs at Sidi Kerir station, as previously reported.
