摘要

The encapsulation/dehydration cryopreservation method was applied to apical shoot-tips derived from a range of genotypically diverse (diploid, tetraploid and hexaploid) potato species. All genotypes survived cryopreservation. A selected population of post-thaw, regenerated plantlets were transferred to a glasshouse environment for longer-term study. These plants exhibited normal developmental patterns (flowering, berry set and tuber formation). Cytological studies revealed that ploidy status was maintained in plants regenerated from cryopreserved apices. Chromosomal abnormalities; were not observed at the histological level of examination used in this study. [References: 20]
