A simple freezing protocol for the use of an open freezing system for cryopreservation of ovarian tissue

In the past decade, there has been a surge of interest in fertility preservation for patients who are undergoing sterilizing chemotherapy. Among the most promising technologies for young women is the strategy of cryopreserving ovarian cortical tissuefor subsequent reimplantation. Until now at least two pregnancies have been achieved [1] and [2] after orthotopic transplantation of cryopreserved ovarian tissue. Both groups have used similar slow cryopreservation protocols in chamber freezing systems.
