CRUSTACEAN DIVERSITY OF THE CORALLIGENOUS BEDS OF MARKIZ ISLAND (AEGEAN COAST OF TURKEY)

The aim of this study was to acquire an impression of the crustacean diversity on the coralligenous beds of Markiz Island. For this purpose, four samplings were made with a dredge at two stations, during 2002 and 2003. Analysis of the material sampledyielded a total of 1458 individuals belonging to 122 species and seven groups of Crustacea (Leptostraca, 1; Mysidacea, 4; Amphipoda, 51; Isopoda, 9; Tanaidacea, 2; Cumacea, 10; Decapoda, 45).
